THE VALUE OF PANCASILA

A. The importance of ideology for nation

The sense of ideology

Ideologyterm is a combination of two words, namely Idea means idea or concept and logos means knowledge, which is Greek original. So definition of ideology is a set of principles taken as basis for giving direction and purpose of which wish to reached in carrying out and developing national life of a nation and country.

And Concept of ideology consists the following :

a) nation and state life principles

b) foundation for nation and state life

c) direction and purpose in nation and state life

B. THE REASIONING OF PANCASILA AS THE NATION IDEOLOGY

1. The term of Pancasila

The term of Pancasila is found in the manuscript of Sutasoma composed by Epu Tantular, the book written at epoch of the Kingdom of Majapahit, in 14^th cebtury. According to themanuscript, the term of Pancasila has two meaning. First, hanving five joint stone. Second, the implementation of the five principles, wich is as follows.

1) forbid the use of violence

2) forbid to steal

3) forbid to own malicious soul

4) forbid lies

5) forbid to consume alcoholic liquos

Formulation of Indonesia’s state philosophy was prepared through BPUPKI conference which took place between May 29, 1945 up to June 1, 1945.

Concept from Mr. Muhammad Yamin ( 29 May 1945) are :

1. Nationality

2. Humanity

3. Divinity

4. Democracy

5. Prosperity of the people

Concept from Prof. Dr. Mr. Supomo ( 31 May 1945) are :

1. Unity

2. Felloship

3. Balance body and mind

4. Deliberation

5. People of justice

Concept from Ir. Soekarno (1 June 1945) are :

1. Nationality of Indonesia

2. Internationalism or humanism

3. General consensus or democracy

4. Social Prosperity

5. Belief in One supreme God

The formulation the draft of Constitution Preamble which then is known as Piagam Djakarta. Pancasila formula is written in the charter as follows.

1) Believing in god with the obligation to perform sharia law for its adherents.

2) Just and civilized humanity

3) The unity of Indonesia

4) Democracy guided by the inner wisdom of deliberations among representatives

5) Social justice for the whole Indonesia people

Pancasila legal formalis at the preambul of constitution 1945 are ( Inpres No. 12 1968) :

1. A belief in the one supreme god

2. Just and civilized humanity

3. The unty of Indonesia

4. Democracy guided by the inner wisdom of deliberations among reprentatives

5. Social justice for the whole Indonesia people
